Is this relevant to me?
If you are an IT administrator with an organisation licence to use an simulation solution such as XR (VR/AR), or you are a teacher or student with a licence to use a desktop or XR edition of a simulation on your personal computer, you will need to start by installing the Skilitics Realities agent.

Overview

Skilitics Realities is a desktop agent which creates the bridge between learning environments.  It enables a personalized learning path while ensuring users always experience the latest simulation offered.  When configured within an organisation or institution, it takes care of the complexities in managing multiple learning environments, streamlining the use of providing simulations to end users.  In a personal setup, Skilitics Realities ensures learners can continue to study at home right where they left off.

STEP 1:  Downloading the Installer

When your organisation procured the simulation licences or subscriptions, your point of contact will have been provided with an email covering your account details.  Within this email will provide access to the download link, along with any additional information you may require.

Please note, there are two installers - our original installer, and our updated installer which provides our new improved installation experience and support for home edition content.  You may find some of our solutions have already moved to the new installer, others will remain on our original installer in the short term.  You can tell the difference based on the visual appearance indicated below.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  While the installer experience is different between editions, the installed software is the same.

STEP 2:  Running the Installer

Once you have downloaded the installer, determine which installer you have and follow the steps indicated below.

Original Installer

On opening the installer you will see this screen.  When you're ready to proceed click the 'Next' button.
Your organisation will have been provided one or more connection codes.  These can be found in your organization's account details document.

Each UX Space requires a unique connection code.  Locate the code associated to the current UX Space you are setting up and enter it in the space provided.
If the connection code entered is valid and you are connected to the internet, the installer will check your code and begin downloading the latest software.

If you entered an incorrect code, or you don't have an active internet connection, an error will appear providing you the opportunity to fix the issue or exit the installer.

On completion of the install process, you will be given the opportunity to launch the new Realities Space before exiting. If you plan to use the space before the next time you restart your machine, ensure you select this option.

New Installer

Our new installer provides a more streamlined setup process, as well as providing a new functionality to support our Home Edition solutions.  Depending on your installation scenario, you will follow a slightly different process when using our new installer.  The difference in the flow is determined by the permissions assigned to your licence.  If you are a student or teacher installing a Home Edition licence, you will follow a simplified process.  If you are designated as an administrator for your organisation of institution, you will find you have the ability to control a number of aspects which relate to the way the solution will work within your environment.  Based on the scenario that matches your situation, follow the steps outlined below.

Student & Teacher Setup

On opening the installer, you will be asked to enter an Invite Code.  This code will have been provided to you either by the organisation who has provided you with your licence, or by email if it was brought through Skilitics Health, or one of our sales partners.

Enter the Invite Code you have in the space provided.

If the Invite Code is matched to a registered organisation, you will be asked to confirm that you recognize the party your licence is associated to.

If you do not recognize them, go back and recheck your Invite Code, otherwise simply proceed with the installation.
You will be asked to login.  For most users, the installation process may be the first time you have logged in.  If this is the case, click the First time user? option shown at the bottom of the screen.  You will need to enter the email address associated with your licence.  If your licence was provided by an organization, this will be the email based on your organization's domain - for example, john.smith@acme.com.

If you have logged in before, or have forgotten your password, simply follow the applicable instructions on screen.

If you have issues logging in, please check this link for solutions to common issues.

After logging in successfully, check your machine matches the system requirements indicated. Please also take the time to check the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Once you accepted and checked the details outlined, proceed with the installation.
Once underway, the installer will begin by downloading and installing the latest copy of the Skilitics Realities Agent.
For users who are licensed to use a Home Edition of any of our simulations, the installer will configure your home environment.

If your licence is associated to an organisation or institution your learn or train with, this will enable you to move between their environment and your own environment seamlessly.
Once your environment is configured, the installer will start downloading any content you are licensed to use.
Some simulation software can be large, so please be aware this can take a little time.
Once everything is setup and ready to go, you will be ready to begin using your new software.

Organisation Administrator Setup

A designated administrator may also have a dual role as a trainer or teacher.  Given this, you have two possible installation scenarios.
  • If you want to install a Home Edition of our software on your own personal PC, you will choose the Personal Computer option.
  • If you are setting up the software within your organization, you will choose the Organization option.

Select the one appropriate to your current installation goal and proceed.

Please Note:  This step is only applicable if you chose the Organisation option.

Every machine your organisation has available for XR simulation becomes known as an XR Space.  These spaces become available to all users who use your organisations simulation environment.  Each XR Space needs to be assigned a name which will become visible to all users.

If you're unsure of the naming convention you should use when naming your spaces, please refer to this article for some ideas.
Please Note:  This step is only applicable if you chose the Organisation option.

Every XR Space needs to below to a Suite.  Suites provide your organisation with a way to associate spaces to physical areas.  These may be rooms designated for simulations, or used to associate spaces to Campuses.
The Suites provided as options will be been registered with us when your licence was purchased.

Select the Suite you wish to associate your new XR Space to, and proceed when you are ready.

The next step is to check your machine matches the system requirements indicated.

STEP 3:  Next Steps

Once you have completed the installation, the next step is to launch your content.  You will do this by logging into your web based Concierge.
